Whenever we get a chance, my family and I love to go to the Poconos in Pennsylvania. It's only 3 hours outside of New York and Philly... Okay, the traffic makes it more like 4 to 6 hours, but it's so worth it.
There's always so much to do no matter what time of year you go. In the spring, there's ClawsNPaws, the perfect zoo to spend a few hours on a beautiful day. If you're feeling a little adventurous, there's horseback riding at Happy Trails. Don't forget about the tons of trails to explore as well; a little nature never hurts. In the fall, the leaves are absolutely beautiful and the mountains are just breathtaking. I love going this time of year because the local farms make their own apple cider, apple spiced doughnuts and pumpkin pie. Mmm, so good. If you come in the winter, there are tons of ice skating rinks and ski hills, like Camelback. During the summer, there are so many lakes to choose from that you won't know what to do with yourself! Lake Wallenpaupack is a great option if you're looking to rent a boat for a weekend. Another great thing? Camelback turns into
Camelbeach over the summer! The possibilities are endless.

On those rainy days, check out Moosic Cinemark for a great movie showing. They are located right next to a lovely strip mall with great shops and restaurants, not to mention the pizza place and arcade located in the theater lobby. Looking for something more active? Head over to Idle Hour Lanes for glow in the dark mini golf, bowling, and their Sleepy Hollow Lounge Bar.
With all of these activities, you won't even have time to be bored!
