When I was younger, my family and I took a trip to Mystic, CT, and I fell in love. When I was in college, I knew I just had to go back; I had missed it so much. Mystic is a beautiful, quaint town right by the water. The scenery is simply breathtaking as you by all of the boats and beautiful houses.
My mom and I took a mother daughter trip over the summer and we decided to go "glamping." Yup, we rented an RV at Strawberry Park, just 20 minutes outside of Mystic. It had everything from beds, to a full kitchen, to A.C., to a television with cable! Not to mention the wine and cheese we brought to watch Harry Potter.
Now, I write about Mystic without letting you know about the fudge. FUDGE. It is just so good. They have Peanut Butter, Maple Walnut, Kahlua, Amaretto and so much more. What's better? Buying different flavors and trying them together! Mystic's unique ice cream flavors are also a must-try: Pumpkin Pie, Kahlua Mocha Fudge and Seaport Salty Swirl. The adorable shops also sell cute trinkets, roasted nuts, interesting sodas, and unique jams and sauces.
Some of the best places to visit while in Mystic are the , Olde Mistic Village Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, Native American Mashantucket Pequot Museum, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. Don't forget to stop at the farms on the side of almost every road; they have the best fruit, vegetables, homemade baked good, sauces and jams!
