Salmon steaks are a little bit heartier than your average piece of salmon and hold up really well on the grill. This is a perfect option for when you want that great grilled flavor but don't want all of the fat that comes with a typical beef steak. If you're a salmon lover, this dish is right up your alley.

Buy salmon steaks from your local fish market (one per person). Start by heating up your grill to medium-high heat. If you have a wood plank for grilling, I highly recommend using one. I used a cedar plank, soaked for 2 hours, and it gave the salmon an amazing smokey flavor. You can use any rub you wish but this particular recipe uses a coffee-garlic rub. This really complimented the salmon and worked great with the grill flavor. It's not an overpowering rub so give it a try! Coat the salmon with the rub and grill for 6-8 minutes, about 3-4 on each side.
