Ahi tuna is my absolute favorite fish. It's so versatile and you can do pretty much anything with it. From sushi to steak, you can make ahi tuna to fit any craving. These ahi tuna burgers are much healthier than your typical beef burger with even more flavor! It's a lot easier than it sounds, I promise!
FIrst, go to your local fish market and by some fresh ahi tuna steaks (about 6.5 oz will make 2 large burgers). Make sure to buy 1.5-2 pounds if you are cooking for 4-6 people. Grind up the ahi tuna in a food processor until it looks like chopped meat. Combine the tuna with Low Sodium Soy Sauce, chopped onion, carrot and any other veggies you'd like to use. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Add smoked paprika or cayenne pepper to give your burger more of a kick! To help hold the shape, add 1 egg and 1/3 cup of whole wheat breadcrumbs. Shape the mixture into 2 burgers and sear in Olive Oil Spray until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.
